About this training:

Teach the next generation of AOD Workforce

Do you have knowledge and clinical skills in the AOD sector that you wish to pass on to other/future AOD workers?

By successfully completing this Certificate IV qualification, you will be able to apply your extensive industry experience to become a nationally recognised and qualified trainer in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

During this training and assessment course, you will gain a range of critical skills including training design, delivery, and assessment. You’ll learn to design and develop learning programs and assessment tools, and use training packages and accredited courses. Additionally, you’ll learn to plan, organise, facilitate, and deliver training in the workplace for both individuals and groups.

This qualification contains the following units:

  • TAEDES401 – Design and develop learning programs
  • TAEDES402 – Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs
  • TAEDEL401 – Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning
  • TAEDEL402 – Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace
  • TAEASS401 – Plan assessment activities and processes
  • TAEASS402 – Assess competence
  • TAEASS403 – Participate in assessment validation
  • TAEASS502 – Design and develop assessment tools
  • TAELLN411 – Address adult language, literacy, and numeracy skills

As this training is at a Certificate IV level, hours of study, both self-paced and in the classroom are much higher and students can expect to commit anywhere from 490 – 700 hours to complete this qualification.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for this course includes having a minimum of 3-5years of current industry experience in the field of vocation you would like to train, and a qualification in the field of vocation equivalent or above in the area you wish to train.

This training has been funded for workers employed in a Victorian State-funded Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) service, including those who are new to the AOD sector or recently employed under the COVID-19 Workforce Initiative and Peer workers.

Who is not eligible?

Students on placement or internships, workers from other community sectors such as Family Violence, Homelessness and Mental Health and AOD workers outside of Victoria.

Please ensure you have clearance to attend from your line manager. If you are unable to attend, even if you find out the day before, please cancel your registration and make your spot available to someone else on the waiting list.
